Apart from their influence on the buying behavior of people, album covers also provide a place where both musicians and designers can express their art. But the music is always more important than the packaging – as it should be. Enjoy the great examples of album cover artwork design which are really useful for inspiration.

I remember very well Metallica Album… Very creative and had a huge impact. The underlined message was great!
Splendid collection!
Although I like the cover of Beatles and Michael Jackson albums, the design of Jonsi – Go is very creative and very neat. The colors are just right since the colors blend very well.
Haven’t heard of Drogatones, but their cover art is DOPE!!!!!
Great selection, though Sportfreunde Stiller’s cover is totallly mediocre!
Thanks for your feedback. Personally, I don’t agree with you. I think the descision if something looks good or not is always subjective. I listed the covers I thought that would be good-looking for the most.
Concerning the said album: I think especially the typography and its gradients as well as the black&white colllage technique are great. This is why I picked it.
Puzzle is an extremely creative design. Good collection of newer artists. How about a post on classic album cover designs. I still think Micheal Jackson’s Dangerous with art by Mark Ryden is an amazing composite.
Joe
Thanks! You’ll see a lot of classic cover designs soon; as there will be sequels to this post. It’s kind of “small series”.
I agree. Dangerous is great.
Thanks really nice covers..
MUSE covers are win!!
I love these. Its my dream job to design albums covers.
Great Covers, I’ve always loved the keane album cover
Keane album covers are way more interesting than their music.
