We’re Now a Design Magazine! (And another big announcement…)

Almost a half of year from the day I started blogging and AEXT is taking a huge leap!

It started out as a small personal blog hosted on Blogger, moved to WordPress as LamNguyenBlog.com, and after few months, I decided to make the switch to the current domain AEXT.net.  Since then, AEXT has become a pretty solid personal blog.  And judging by our subscriber counts and the amount of interaction goin’ on here, people love it!

Today, I’m very glad to announce that AEXT.net is no longer just a personal blog, we are stepping it up as a web design magazine.  And what better way to celebrate this announcement than to have a fresh new web design!

But that’s not all!  We have one more major announcement…

We Are Now A Proud Service of HelloLogic

From now on, AEXT.net is proudly a service of HelloLogic (follow). This is definitely big news for our readers.  In the past, AEXT was designed, developed and maintained by individual – me.  That’s why the articles published here so far haven’t been the absolute highest of quality.  So who and what is HelloLogic?  HelloLogic, founded by Nathan J. Brauer, is a UX consultancy and web service provider (of which most are in alpha/beta stages).

What’s going to change? Not much. We’re going to keep growing in the web design community. We have and will continue to publish all the best of web design and development tutorials, resources for web designers, web developers, and design inspiration. Only now, we’ll post more often, from more authors, and with an editor (Nathan).

In this next generation of AEXT.net, we will be focusing on turning this into a high quality magazine featuring tutorials, collections, industry insights, and other resources.  Which brings us to a request…

WE NEED YOU! (Especially if you’re awesome.)

Now that we’re a magazine, we’re going to need a few talented writers (that’s you!) to create original content for AEXT. We are open to anything related to the Web and web design. If you are not sure, just send your suggestion(s) and we’ll take a look. Consider the following:

  • HTML and CSS
  • Photoshop
  • Freelancing: Starting a web design business, dealing with clients, etc.
  • Tips & Hacks for
    • Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla, etc.
    • AJAX, Javascript, PHP, MYSQL
  • Basic design, advanced design, fonts
  • Top 10 lists
  • Industry insights (related to design and the web)
  • Freebies
  • Or any other topic for a web designers.

Submitting articles to AEXT.NET is a good way to promote yourself across the web, and we have a few secret benefits for awesome writers (like you) who write for us.  Go on, mozzy on over here to read more about the program. When you’re done reading, get in touch with us and we’ll let you in on the secret!

So? What do you think?

Let us know what you think about the new design in the comments!

Special thank to our sponsors

As our first gold sponsor from the day I placed the ad space up, PSH has been (and we hope will continue in) supporting us. We strongly recommend them for any PSD to HTML needs you have. We love them and we hope you do too.

A few other sponsors we’d like to send big thanks to:

Finally, thanks to our readers who have been around and have watched AEXT.net grow into what it has become today.

AEXT.NET Team and HelloLogic.

Hey, thanks Sneh :) Glad you’re diggin’ the design!
I noticed you’re from Australia. Which part?

I’m from the USA but currently in Vietnam for a few more months so we’re not too far apart time-zone-wise.
